Paratus Africa and Rotary Club Windhoek announce the recharged Paratus Namibian Cycle Classic

Windhoek – Paratus Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd (Paratus), together with the Rotary Club Windhoek (RCW) have announced the relaunch of the Namibian Cycle Classic, as the Paratus Namibian Cycle Classic. The renowned, fundraising cycling event is being reinvigorated, to provide Namibians with a quality sporting event.

The 23rd Cycle Classic will take place in Windhoek, on the 8th and 9th of October 2022. The mountain bike (MTB) races will take place on the 8th along with the Kiddies Classic, a jovial phase of the event. The highlight for cyclists is the road bike (RB) races which will take place on the 9th. Signups for the event open on the 22nd of July, with information about entry fees and routes available on the signup page.

The Paratus Namibian Cycle Classic promises cyclists a premier sporting experience where they can challenge themselves and advance beyond their limits, whilst contributing to community service projects all over Namibia. The event typically sees entries of over a thousand cyclists and welcomes cycling enthusiasts from countries such as Angola, Botswana, and South Africa, allowing them to experience Namibia’s beauty, as well as give local families the opportunity to spend quality time enjoying the outdoors.

The event will cater not only to cyclists but to everyone eager to enjoy a weekend of fun, entertainment and action! The weekend will be teeming with different activities ranging from music, to face painting and jumping castles for the kids. All are welcome to attend and cheer on participants, whilst enjoying good food, refreshments, and the great Namibian hospitality.

Rainer Ritter, RCW’s president says, “The Cycle Classic has been organised and managed by the Rotary Club since 1999, and we thank Paratus for their support in bringing this annual sporting event to life. As a company, their vision and values align with our own and we look forward to working closely with them.”

Paratus Namibia’s MD, Andrew Hall, adds, “At Paratus, we believe that limits are a state of mind, and we want you to go beyond. We are proud to bring you an event where we can challenge your limits and can continue to invest in our community. We are extremely excited to have the Paratus brand associated with this prestigious event and pledge our commitment and dedication to take this event to new heights.”

The Paratus Namibian Cycle Classic launch event took place on Thursday 21st of July at the Paratus HQ, Prosperita. For more information on the event and entries please go to www.webtickets.com.na or kindly contact Delia at delia@webtickets.com.na.
