With the reinforcement and expansion of national coverage, the inauguration of the new Data Center, the expansion of the fiber optic network, and the increase in the quality and international coverage of telecommunications services through joining the PARATUS Group, ITA is moving forward to help transform Angola into a data/traffic hub in Africa.
Luanda, March 3, 2020: ITA – Internet Technologies Angola, today presented its 2019 annual report and Strategic Plan for 2020 at its Patriota facilities, at a meeting held with partners, customers, journalists, and industry professionals.
In line with its 2019 strategic plan, ITA maintained its targets for structural projects and infrastructure investments, resulting in an increase of around 45% in turnover compared to 2018. To sustain this growth, the company, which currently operates in thirteen provinces with its own network infrastructure, plans to expand its telecommunications network to all 18 provinces by the end of 2020, thus covering the entire national territory with fiber and wireless infrastructure with high data transmission capacity.
In addition to expanding and consolidating its national coverage, in 2020 ITA, as part of the Paratus group, reaffirms its goal of internationalizing its telecommunications and information technology services. According to ITA's General Manager, Francisco Pinto Leite, the aim is to transform Angola into a data/traffic hub in Africa, thereby enabling institutions such as banks, oil and gas companies, mines, telecommunications operators, retailers, and government agencies to benefit from a telecommunications services network in Africa, with a focus on the SADC region.
Also linked to the expansion plan, the inauguration of ITA's second Data Center allows public and private institutions in Angola to use high-level services, keeping their data stored in physical structures or in the Cloud within the country, thus ensuring the sovereignty of critical information.
“The new Data Center inaugurated in 2019, the expansion of our national coverage, the implementation of fiber optics, and joining the PARATUS Group are the fundamental bases for us to guarantee and raise our quality of service to international levels, attract investments, and allow Angola to position itself as an important data/traffic hub in Sub-Saharan Africa," says Francisco Pinto Leite.
