PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA is exhibiting at the 38th edition of FILDA, from July 18 to 22, in the Special Economic Zone, where it announced the construction of its third data center in Angola and the fifth for the PARATUS Group in Southern Africa.
Luanda, July 18, 2023 – PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA, which has been operating in Angola for over 16 years, has announced that it will build its first Tier IV data center in Luanda – the first of its kind in Angola. This new facility will complement the two Tier III data centers that the Angolan company already owns and operates in the country.
"The new data center will be built on a site covering more than30,000 square meters, with the potential to host more than 2,000 racks and cages and a total power capacity of more than 10 megawatts. It is a natural evolution after we recently built other world-class data centers in Namibia and Zambia. It will be the largest in Angola, and will not only complement our current data center offering, but also cement our position in the country as a leading operator," said Rolf Mendelsohn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA.
The PARATUS Group, a telecommunications operator founded in Africa, of which PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA is a founding member, currently has four (4) state-of-the-art, Tier-III designed, carrier neutral data centers, certified and purpose-built in Southern Africa.
“Placing critical infrastructure in data centers is becoming indispensable for companies that want to gain an advantage in the digital economy. We will support this by providing the infrastructure and services necessary to give companies what they need to actively compete in the fourth industrial revolution,” adds Rolf Mendelsohn.
PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA owns and operates Angola's largest and most advanced data center, certified by ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS, a commitment to compliance that the company believes is unmatched in the country. The international standards verified by these certifications assure customers that PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA offers unparalleled levels of service, security, and quality in the overall management of its facilities.
“As a leading data center operator in Angola, PARATUS – Internet Technologies Angola, SA aims to stay ahead of the digital transformation curve and has always been ready to make investments that allow customers to benefit from a strategic advantage. We are committed, and in fact our mission is to make Angola a data hub for the region. Our data center offering, combined with our high-quality, continuous network throughout the SADC region, gives us a unique leadership position in providing what our customers need today," concludes Mendelsohn.
With a 99.98% SLA, backed by the latest world-class technologies, PARATUS Group data centers provide unique guarantees and resilience. Significant investments are made to offer the most secure, environmentally friendly, and efficient facilities on the continent, giving customers a competitive advantage. This, coupled with the provision of Africa's quality network, means that the Group is helping to leverage Africa's digital future.
Considerations:
Moving data to a fully secure facility— a data center —not only ensures improved processing and protection, but also offers redundancies in terms of connectivity, power, cooling, and security and fire suppression capabilities that traditional on-site server rooms may struggle to achieve. These carrier-neutral facilities offer various physical and virtual hosting services, as well as opportunities for content delivery networks (CDNs) to help deliver high-availability, high-performance content services.
