ITA brings the world's latest satellite technology to Angola

With a mission to deliver innovation through efficient, reliable, and accessible telecommunications and IT infrastructure and services, ITA is ushering in a new era in satellite service provision by bringing the world's latest satellite technology to Angola.

 The new DVB-SX2 satellite system, the first in Angola, is an upgrade of the DVB standard used in high-definition technologies with high performance in data transmission and reception. This new technology guarantees a transmission efficiency gain of up to 50% for professional applications, reinforcing the reliability of connections with significant gains in terms of performance and data transmission quality.

In parallel with the implementation of the new technology, ITA is renovating its satellite ground station located on its campus in Patriota, installing a new 7.6-meter antenna for KU Band and repositioning other smaller antennas responsible for data uplink.

According to Rolf Mendelsohn, CEO of the company, the implementation of the new technology and the refurbishment of the satellite ground station offer competitive advantages to ITA customers who need stable connectivity services and high data transmission capacity in remote areas of Angola. "With these improvements, we are able to deliver reliable connectivity services anywhere in the more than 1.2 million square kilometers of the national territory," concluded Rolf.

At a time when the Angolan company is going global through its consolidation with the PARATUS group, ITA stands out as a pioneer in the use of this system in Angola and confirms its proposal to transform Angola into a data hub for Sub-Saharan Africa, by strengthening and increasing national coverage, inaugurating the new Data Center, the expansion of the fiber optic network, and the improvement of the quality and international coverage of telecommunications services.
