Paratus 10 Years Birthday Competition
These competition rules (“Rules”) set out your rights and obligations in respect of this competition. By entering the competition or accepting any prize, you agree that Paratus Telecommunications (“Paratus”) will assume you have read and accepted these Rules and are legally bound by them. Please read these Rules carefully.
1. Eligibility Criteria:
1.1. The competition is open to all residents of Botswana, including foreign nationals, who are Paratus Telecommunications residential internet customers with an individual account registered with Paratus.
1.2. To qualify, participants must have maintained an active residential internet service and made all required monthly payments for at least ten (10) consecutive months prior to the applicable draw date and must remain active customers at the time of the draw.
1.3. A “home internet customer” refers to an individual with an active residential internet service (including FTTH or SKY-Fi {fixed wireless}) registered in their personal name.
1.4. Only residential services registered in an individual’s name will qualify. Services registered under a company or business name, including those provided to employees, will not be eligible.
1.5. Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of the draw.
1.6. Paratus employees and affiliated partners are not eligible to participate.
1.7. Only one entry will be allocated per qualifying residential account.
2. Entry Requirements:
2.1. Entry into the competition is automatic for all customers who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in Section 1.
3. Competition Period:
3.1. The Competition will run over a five-week period beginning 4th June 2026 to 2nd July 2026
4. Geographical Limitations:
4.1. This promotion is applicable to Paratus home internet subscribers within Botswana.
5. Draw Process:
5.1. The competition will run from 4 June 2026 to 2 July 2026, with weekly draws taking place every Thursday. Eligible customers will automatically be entered into each draw, provided they continue to meet the qualifying criteria at the time of the applicable draw.
5.2. A team comprising the Head of Systems, a Sales Representative, Marketing Representative and Internal Auditor will oversee the draw process. Eligible customer names will be extracted weekly from our Customer Database using an SQL query and exported to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. In Excel, a dynamic array formula will be used to randomly select multiple unique winners from the dataset.
5.3. Weekly prizes will be allocated as shown below and awarded in order of the first four unique names generated by the selection formula (six for the finale draw):

5.4. A total of twenty-two (22) winners will be selected across all weekly draws, with each winner receiving one (1) prize only. Once a customer has won a prize, they will not be eligible for subsequent draws.
5.5. Paratus shall, upon approval from Gambling Authority, carry out a re-draw should it, for any reason whatsoever, and after all available means to contact the initial winner have been exhausted. In such circumstances, the initial winner for the weekly prize at the time, shall irrevocably waive their rights to the prize.
5.6. All draws will take place at 14:30 at the Paratus offices in Gaborone.
6. Winner Notification & Prize Collection:
6.1. Potential winners will be contacted via the telephone number and email address registered with Paratus. Winners will also be announced on Paratus owned digital media platforms.
6.2. Paratus will make reasonable attempts to contact winners for a period of 90-days from the date of the draw, using all available contact details. If a winner cannot be reached within this period, the prize will be forfeited.
6.3. The prize must be collected within ten (10) working days of successful notification from at their nearest Paratus branch which are in Gaborone, Francistown, Maun, Kasane or Ghanzi.
6.4. Winners must produce valid original identification documents in the form of either their OMANG or Passport, when claiming their prize. A winner may appoint a proxy to collect the prize on their behalf, provided the winner supplies a signed authorisation letter and a copy of their valid ID.
6.5. Failure to adhere to the rules or to claim the prize within the stipulated timeframe may result in disqualification.
7. Prize Conditions:
7.1. The prize awarded is non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
7.2. The winner must accept the prize as-is and is responsible for any additional costs associated with its use.
8. Maintenance and Warranty:
8.1. Paratus will not provide maintenance or warranty services for the prizes awarded.
9. Publicity Rights:
9.1. By accepting a prize, winners agree that Paratus may use their name and likeness for promotional purposes related to the Competition, without additional compensation.
10. Privacy:
10.1. Participants consent to the collection and processing of their personal information by Paratus in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2024 and will adhere to the Paratus privacy policy. Personal data will be kept secure and only shared with third parties where necessary or required by law. Participants have the right to withdraw their consent, however this will constitute termination from the competition.
11. Modification or Termination:
11.1. Paratus reserves the right, upon approval from the Gambling Authority, to modify, extend, update or terminate the promotion.
11.2. Any changes to the terms and conditions will be communicated through appropriate channels.
12. Disputes and Queries:
12.1. In the event of any dispute, complaint or query relating to the Competition, qualifying participants may submit their concerns in writing to Paratus via email at marketing.bw@paratus.africa within seven (7) working days of the incident or announcement of winners.
12.2. Paratus will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and undertake a review, with a response provided within a reasonable timeframe not exceeding seven (7) working days.
12.3. Where a dispute cannot be resolved internally, the matter may be escalated in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks and referred to the relevant authority, including the Gambling Authority, where applicable.
13. Governing Law:
13.1. This promotion and its terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Botswana, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Botswana courts.
14. Limitation of Liability:
14.1. Paratus shall not be held liable for any losses, damages, or expenses incurred as a result of participation in the Competition, acceptance of the prize, or use of the awarded services.
15. Indemnification:
15.1. Participants agree to indemnify and hold Paratus harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from their participation in the Competition or any breach of these terms and conditions.
