ITA and FAX Reopen Their Headquarters

The Angolan Chess Federation reopened its headquarters in Maculusso on Tuesday, March 30, following renovation work covered by the technological sponsorship memorandum signed with ITA.

The sponsorship agreement signed last September at the Angolan Chess Federation's premises not only provided FAX with a dedicated fiber optic internet connection, which improved the Federation's daily activities and participation in national and international tournaments, but also provided for renovation work at the Federation's headquarters.

The president of the Angolan Chess Federation, Tito Martins, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the partnership with ITA, five months after the agreement was signed, seeing the last point of the agreement fulfilled. "ITA surprised us in a positive way, not only by fulfilling the agreement, but by giving us much more than was stipulated. These actions help us to continue our work and motivate our athletes and members. We are grateful to have another partner joining the existing ones to improve chess in Angola," he said.

 "We believe in the future of chess in Angola. This is a small gesture to show our gratitude to the federation and our national team, which makes us very proud with its titles. The Federation can and should always count on us," assured Francisco Pinto Leite, General Director of ITA.

The ceremony also served to announce the Inter-Company Chess Tournament, known as the ITA Tournament, which will be attended by all of the Federation's partner companies and will take place on April 10 of this year.

The agreement signed last September was part of ITA's Social Responsibility project, which has always been linked to sports, particularly golf, with eight tournaments already held. The partnership with FAX is a step towards diversifying social responsibility among other existing sports. "Supporting sport, and chess in particular, means supporting the learning process of young people who play it, and those who aspire to play it, as they develop important skills for becoming responsible human beings."
