ITA delivers computer room in Benguela

Benguela, May 28, 2019: The Provincial Office of Education in Benguela, in partnership with ITA – Internet Technologies Angola, one of the largest technology companies in the country, joined forces in a partnership aimed at remodeling and equipping the computer room of the Benguela Industrial Institute, one of the schools that trains the most mid-level technicians in the city of red acacias.

This particularly important agreement enabled ITA to use the proceeds from the last Solidarity Golf Tournament, held at the end of 2018, to purchase and install 20 complete computer stations at the Benguela Industrial Technical Institute, including a CPU, keyboard, and mouse, as well as a 40-inch smart TV, air conditioning units, and, most importantly, a high-capacity internet connection.

According to Artur Mapuna, director of the Benguela Industrial Institute, this partnership with ITA has brought great benefits to the Institute's students, who now have access to a well-equipped computer room with high-speed, stable internet.

In turn, Francisco Pinto Leite, Director-General of ITA, emphasized that technology expands access to information and brings students closer to the best that the world has to offer in terms of knowledge and tools that certainly add considerable value to their résumés.

"As one of the largest technology companies in the country, within the framework of this partnership with the Ministry of Education, we intend to contribute to the development of education through digital inclusion, providing high-quality equipment and internet connectivity in the hope that this engagement will promote socioeconomic development," said Francisco Pinto Leite.

Francisco Pinto Leite concluded by saying that “it is equally important to emphasize that this was possible thanks to the support of more than 200 participants and partners of ITA, who, in the 7th edition of the Solidarity Golf Tournament held in 2018, contributed to us being able to offer these conditions to students today.”

As part of this partnership, ITA and the Ministry of Education selected two schools in the provinces of Luanda and Benguela to benefit from the project. Following the handover of the classroom in Luanda last April, ITA proceeded this week with the handover of the classroom to the Industrial Secondary School in the wealthy city of Benguela.
