Paratus Telecommunications currently has a vacancy for a Fiber Maintenance Technician in Windhoek.
Roles and responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Technician with experience in both fiber optic installation and civil engineering-related tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks, while also overseeing civil works such as trenching, ducting, and site preparation to support fiber infrastructure.
The minimum requirements for the position are as follows:
- Diploma or certification in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven 3 years’ experience in fiber optic installation and civil works.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and fiber documentation systems
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction and telecom environments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites.
- Police clearance.
