Ana Santos is the Group Chief Legal Officer of Paratus Group, bringing over 25 years of legal expertise in the banking and finance sector as well as telecommunications and ICT in Europe and across Africa. With a Master in Law’s degree from the Catholic University of Lisbon, a postgraduate diploma in Securities Law and a LLM in Digital Economy from the Global School of Law Ana has built a career as in-house legal counsel for international companies in the banking and telecommunications sectors supporting all areas of the business, directly advising the CEO and Senior Executives.
Since joining Paratus in 2016, Ana was responsible for the legal aspect of the re-structuring of the Group which involved the consolidation of subsidiary shares in the holding company and entry of a new major investor to the Paratus Group which was achieved in 2019., Providing legal expertise and liaising with local law firms towards the expansion of the Paratus Group to eight new countries, ensuring compliance with diverse regulatory environments. Ana has played a role in the transactions with Big Tech, such as Google, Starlink, Oneweb and Meta, allowing for the implementation and offering in the Paratus Group of the new services and technologies, such as the Equiano Cable and LEO services. Her multilingual fluency and strategic legal oversight has supported Paratus’ mission to be Africa’s quality network.
