The 12th edition of the Solidarity Golf Tournament took place recently at the Mangais Golf Resort. Sponsored by Internet Technologies Angola S.A. (ITA), the annual tournament attracted 112 players across 28 teams from Angola’s corporate and institutional community and raised funds to improve digital inclusion in Angolan schools. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be used to establish a new computer lab at a school in Luena, Moxico province.
Working in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Internet Technologies Angola, S.A. ensures that the beneficiary school is one most in need, and the new computer lab will be fitted with state-of-the-art computers, secure internet connectivity and digital literacy programmes to equip students with essential 21st-century skills.
“This tournament is proof that when business and community come together, real change can happen,” said Rolf Mendelsohn, Chief Executive Officer of Internet Technologies Angola, S.A. “Access to technology is essential for education and personal growth. With over 20 years of experience in Angola, we take pride in helping to open digital doors for young people, creating opportunities that benefit not just students, but the future of the country.”
Beyond the competition – which saw InterBusiness secure first place with 93 points, followed by Papasito (92 points) and K Sushi (91 points) – the day featured a charity art auction and cultural entertainment, underscoring the community-driven spirit of the initiative.
Since its inception in 2012, the Solidarity Golf Tournament has raised funds to establish more than 20 computer labs across Angola, directly benefitting over 10,000 students. This year’s contribution to Moxico continues Paratus Group’s mission to bridge the digital divide, building on recent investments in Cabinda and other provinces to ensure young people across Angola have access to the tools and skills they need for a digital future.
