On Friday June 16, 2023, Paratus Botswana joined hands with the Walk of Hope organization to commemorate the Day of the African Child with Mogoditshane Primary School. Paratus donated stationery including A4 printing paper packs, pencils, pens, sharpeners and erasers to Mogoditshane Primary School, which was handed over as a part of the school’s activities for the day. These supplies will be used by for learning purposes, particularly by Standard 7 pupils.
Walk of Hope is a philanthropic endeavour founded by Ms Theriso Motsumi Motsemeng, who has embarked on a mission to adopt schools as a means of assisting students from underprivileged backgrounds. With the organization now in its 10th year of operations, these objectives have spread to encompass a selection of 10 primary schools that will benefit from the stationery-drive. In her statement, Ms Motsemeng highlighted her appreciation of the response she received from Paratus, considering the relative short notice of request for donations.
When giving his remarks, the Head-Teacher Mr Samuel Setuke lauded the two partnering organizations for their donations, citing the value that corporate entities and community focused initiatives bring to academic institutions. He further urged the continuation of these efforts, assuring that they would be put to good use as he has a dedicated staff and student body.
“We as Paratus are committed to the communities we serve in, particularly youth focused projects, as we believe that their early development is a crucial component of success”, said Marketing Manager Ms Wame Kebaetse. Paratus social investments pillars are centered on education and youth development, these focus areas reiterate one of the company’s core brand messages, which is to un-limit the potential of others.
