A strategic partnership between Eutelsat OneWeb and Paratus Group subsidiary in Angola, Internet Technologies Angola, S.A.,(ITA) has propelled Angola into the space age of connectivity with the launch of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite solutions that deliver total coverage, low latency and reliable connections. This is a historic step has transformed satellite business internet access throughout the entire country, including the most remote areas.
The partnership was celebrated at the recent inauguration of the new OneWeb teleport facility in Angola, built by Paratus. Since the inauguration of the state-of-the-art facility, there has been a surge in demand for OneWeb LEO services in Angola, particularly from customers in the oil and gas, mining and banking sectors who have acquired the OneWeb solution via Paratus Group subsidiary in Angola (ITA). The OneWeb teleport in Angola acts as a critical ground infrastructure hub, enabling seamless satellite connectivity and reinforcing Angola’s position as a regional digital leader. The inauguration event was attended by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication of the Angolan government, Engineer Mário Oliveira, business leaders, partners and stakeholders.
